New Features
Loree introduces its revolutionary AI-powered Magic Text Editor:
- You can now use the power of AI to get creative with your written content. This feature of Magic Text is added to the Bubble Menu of the Text element in the Editor.
- Selecting the text that you want to edit will activate this Bubble Menu, which will now come with its latest feature, Magic Text, as shown below:
- Clicking on the Magic Text feature will then present you with a dropdown of following options:
1. Rewrite: To express the same information using different words or structure.
2. Rephrase: To convey the original meaning in a different manner while maintaining clarity.
3. Shorten: To condense the content by reducing the length while retaining essential information.
4. Summarize: To provide a concise overview of the key points or main ideas in a text. - Using these options you can easily Rewrite, Rephrase, Shorten and even Summarize your content as presented below in the snippet video:
- The cursor of the AI Magic Text editor will remain disabled for the short while it is working its magic as shown below:
- If the toggle option for the AI Magic Text is not turned on from the Admin Dashboard, the Magic Text will be deactivated in the Bubble Menu.
AI Error Handling:
In Loree we handle the following different errors that users might come across- Server Error, Authentication Error and Rate limitation Error.
Type 1: Server Error
- If there is any server issue or unavailability from the ChatGPT service within Loree for the AI tool, upon clicking on the desired AI tool the following error message will be displayed on the screen:
Type 2: Authentication Error
- If the API key for the configuration of AI tools in Loree is not valid / is wrong, then when the user tries applying the Magic Text tool, they will be shown the following Authentication Error message:
Type 3: Rate Limitation Error
- Depending on the paid subscription to Chat GPT, users will be allotted a certain number of RPMs, i.e., Request Per Minute.
- When a user surpasses this limit while utilizing Loree's AI tools, the system will display the following error message on the screen:
- If you happen to encounter any unexpected errors or need assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to our friendly support team through SoaringEd Contact Support.
Math Equation:
- The Loree Editor just got an upgrade with the brand-new Math Equation (Σ) feature for Text Headers and Paragraphs. Simply enable the checkbox for Math Equation in the Advanced tab of Roles and Features from your Admin Dashboard, and users will have the power to easily incorporate this feature into the editor, as shown in the image below:
- Upon placing cursor over the Text element, you can see an 'Σ' icon for math equations, as shown in the images below:
- Simply click on the 'Σ' icon, and it will unveil a plethora of around 160 mathematical equation symbols. Hover your cursor over any symbol, and its name will gracefully appear in the tool-tip view. Take a sneak peek at the video snippet below for a quick preview:
- Unless any equation is added in the blank area provided, the Insert icon will remain as disabled by default.
- After inserting the math equation it will get created in the form of image as shown below, that can be deleted by simply clicking Backspace.
- As shown in the above video, the added equation will have an EDIT EQUATION option in the tool-tip, clicking on which, the user will be re-directed to the Math equation list tab for easy editing of the equation as shown in the image below:
Backspacing will delete the entire the Math Equation that is inserted and not just a part, as it will be in image form.
- The Math equation model also allows users to add a combination of equations as per their needs as shown below:
- There are some Equations that are not pre-added in the editor directly. There is a disabled toggle option in the Math Equation editor called 'Directly Edit LaTex', as shown below:
- Turning on this option will enable the users to copy-paste the structures using the Cheat Sheet attached below, to use the LaTex Equations.
- Loree provides its own Cheat Sheet for LaTex equations.
- If users want to add a LaTex Equation that is not previously added in the Cheat Sheet, they can only do that if the equation structure fits with the function of the structures in the Cheat Sheet, if not then those equations will reflect in RED colour respectively as shown in the below image:
Smart Color Picker:
- Loree introduces the Smart Color Picker for the instant checking of the Colour Contrast Ratio in the Design section of Text element as well as in the Bubble Menu, as shown in the images below:
- If the Contrast Ratio does not match then it will reflect as 'Fail' as shown in the image below:
- The Smart Color Picker provides a user-friendly alternative to the Accessibility Checker tool for addressing issues related to the contrast ratio of elements. Instead of navigating through the Accessibility Checker icon to resolve color contrast ratio problems, users can now directly check whether the ratio passes or fails.
- The video below serves as a reference, showcasing the previous process without the convenience of the Smart Color Picker.
- WCAG 2.0 level AA requires a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
- The Smart Color Picker extends its support to both the Text Background and the text itself while excluding Borders.
*The colour contrast ratio might slightly differ sometimes in the Background colour option of Edit Row and Edit Column area because of the overlaying of elements on the text area. This can be avoided by simply making sure that the desired text doesn't get overlayed/ hidden by all the column options as shown in the video:
Enhancements
Enhanced Color Picker Spectrum Preview
- Previously, when the user tried to change the opacity value, instead of changing the background opacity value in the preview window, the colour intensity would change in the spectrum window, which was the reverse of what was expected.
- Now users will not experience this issue as it has been fixed and the preview window will show changes for opacity and not the spectrum section as shown in the images below:
Element Preset and Spacing
Here are some minor enhancements regarding element presets and spacing:
- When a user selects the left alignment option with text, it is expected that the image should be aligned on the left and the text to be on the right. This functionality works as intended. However, there was a swap in the Preset user interface on the side panel as shown below:
- This issue has been resolved by changing the preset UI as shown below:
- The 10px margin-bottom for the image with left/right aligned elements in its parent row has been removed.
- The padding in the Kaltura iframe has been removed. This enhancement creates a more visually appealing and consistent appearance.
- Previously, there was padding space for the table caption in the stylesheet. However, in the design section, it showed a value of 0. This inconsistency has been resolved, and now the table caption has no padding top or bottom.
Enhanced Design Support for External Audio Elements in Migrated Contents:
- Loree users can now personalize the width, space, alignment, and border styles of audio elements in the loree editor, even they were previously created in the Canvas editor.
- Previously, setting the width above 100% caused audio file structure breaks. This has been addressed by capping the maximum width at 100% as shown in the 2 images below:
- To simplify the design process, the height option has been removed from the Design section for external audio elements as shown in the images below:
Pressing Enter key on input field should not throw browser pop-up to close the tab
- It was found that when the user presses ENTER key after adding values in the input field for images, videos or documents; a browser pop-up would be prompted to leave the tab as shown in the image below:
- This issue is now fixed and now even if the user presses the ENTER key, there will be no such pop-up prompted.
Bug Fixes
Image with wrap text: Whole element highlight issue
- There was an issue where the whole selection highlight would disappear after adding an element inside the editor and moving the cursor. Additionally, a dashed line would appear when clicking on the image with wrap text.
- However, this problem has been resolved. The whole element highlight is now retained when moving the cursor for both images with wrap text and table elements.
- Furthermore, the dashed line no longer appears when clicking on the image with wrap text as shown in the video below:
Container Element Styles were not applied to Nested
- Before when a user created a template and saved it as a global template, they could add a row within that template and then add a container inside the row.
- However, when the user changed the percentage of the container, it would also update the overall page container where the design was located.
- Furthermore, if the user selected the outer container and resized it, it would also change the size of the inner container.
- This issue has been resolved. Now, when the user selects a container and apply styles, they will only be applied to the specific element user have selected.
Special Element: Navigation Block Option Mini Menu Issue
- Earlier users encountered an issue where they were unable to see the block option mini menu when adding a navigation element in multiple columns. After the initial view, the mini menu for the block option would not appear.
- This issue is now fixed and users can click the block option in multiple columns within the navigation element and the mini menu will open as expected as shown in the image below:
Font name mismatch fix
- Earlier while updating the Font list at the backend we had updated some font names without space in the name of the fonts and the content created using those fonts inside the Loree editor were not reflecting as expected on Canvas.
- We have now corrected the error by adding the space on the Font names whereever it was required to those Fonts at the backend.
- Those Fonts are: Be Vietnam, Times New Roman, Source Sans Pro, Dancing Script, Open Sans.
- There are two ways to resolved this issue permanently:
- User can open the page in the Loree editor where the have used the above mentioned Fonts and just click on the save to LMS option to resolve the issue permanently.
- We have udpated the migration script for all the Fonts. This will resolve the issue with all the content in the sub account that has Loree's CSS and JS updated to their themes.
- If the user has copied the course to a sub account which does not have Loree's CSS and JS updated to their themes, then the Fonts will not reflect as expected on Canvas. To resolve this permanently it is advised to Open the page in Loree editor and save to LMS.
Blank Page Issue in Multiple-Column Rows with Navigation Special Elements
Previously, users faced an issue when adding multiple columns to a page and incorporating a navigation element using special elements. An empty space appeared after the image before the menu, and if the user clicked on it multiple times, the entire page would go blank due to a bug. This problem specifically occurred with multiple column rows and didn't manifest when working with single column rows.
This issue has been successfully resolved. Now, when users add a multiple column row, include a navigation element using special elements, and click anywhere multiple times, the editor remains intact, and the page won't go blank.
Link is overlapping the blockoption for icons
- Earlier user encountered an issue when they add an icon to the page and add a hyper link to the Icon then increase the size of the icon we could see that the link is overlapping the block options.
- This issue is now fixed. Now, when the user adds an icon to the page and add a hyperlink to the icon then increases the size of the icon we can see that the hyperlink is not overlapping the block options.
Selection changed to next row when user deletes the element
- Previously, users encountered an issue where, upon deletion of elements the selection automatically moved to the next row.
- In this case when the user tries to delete the elements, the next row is highlighted, and if the user tries to delete the last row of elements the previous row is highlighted.
- This issue is now successfully resolved. When the user now tries to delete the elements/last menu items, neither the next row nor the previous row is highlighted. Now when user tries to delete the elements the selection is not moved to next row.
Restrict backspace button from removing icons and image in image with wrap text and BlockQuote
- Earlier, Loree users experienced an issue where, when after adding an image with wrap text and blockquote, upon clicking the backspace button, the icons and images would be removed.
- This issue has been successfully fixed. Now when the user tries to delete an image or icon using the backspace button it won't allow the user to delete the image or icons.
- This fix specifically applies to Images with wrap text and Blockquotes
RGBA input only accepts single number input when opening color picker in Design section.
- Users encountered an issue when opening the color picker in the Design section and switching to the RGBA view. They were unable to update the RGBA values using keyboard numbers and couldn't enter the second number. After pressing one number, the selection focus would move out.
- However, this issue has been resolved and users can now easily update the RGBA values using keyboard numbers and enter the second digit without any problems. This improvement ensures a smoother user experience when working with colors in Loree a shown in the image below:
