We have now completely updated the Font Management System in the Loree editor. Now the Loree admin is able to add or upload the custom fonts to their instance directly from the admin dashboard.
When the Loree admin is on the admin dashboard they can click on Fonts from the navigation menu. There are two options provided under fonts.
1. Google Fonts.
2. Custom Fonts.
Google Fonts: Google Fonts allows the admin to view all the Google fonts that are already added on the instance. The admin user can also add new Google fonts to their list simply by searching the name of the Google font on the search window. After searching the Google font name on the window they can click on the font's name then there will be a pop-up modal with name Add Google Font with the text “Do you want to add "Selected Font Name" to your Font list?“ With two options cancel and add. If the admin clicks on cancel the modal will be cancelled and the font will not get added to the instance. And if the admin selects add option then the font will be added to the Google font List.
Admin can also remove any fonts from the list by clicking the delete option provided next to the fonts names on the extreme right side of the screen.
Disclaimer: The Google Fonts integration requires the use of the Google Fonts API, which sends End User IP addresses to Google servers and may not be GDPR-compliant. To keep from sending End User IP addresses to Google Servers, we recommend downloading fonts from Google and uploading them as custom fonts.
Custom Fonts: Custom Fonts allow the admin to view all the custom fonts that all already uploaded in the instance. Loree admin can upload any desired fonts to their instance using the upload option provided.
Note:
Upload your font files in any of the following formats: TTF/OTF/WOFF
A maximum of 10 font files is allowed per upload.
To upload a font the Loree admin can click on the upload option and then select the fonts from the system in TTF/OTF/WOFF Format and after selecting the format, the admin has to select the style of the font.
After selecting the style of the font we can click on upload and the fonts will get uploaded. As soon as the font is uploaded there will be a message on the screen Upload completed with a (note: please copy the font CSS available in the next step and paste in the themes, to make the changes appear in your LMS.)
After Successfully uploading a font the admin has to copy the CSS of the font and update that in the themes to make the changes appear in your LMS. CSS for a particular font can be found on the right side of the uploaded font list.
Admin also has the option to download or copy all the styles in one click using the provided option on the bottom of the screen and paste in the themes so get all the fonts in the theme in one update.
We have total 6 default Google fonts + 3 non-google fonts as default.
Google Fonts:
Barlow
Be vietnam
Dancing Script
Lato
Open Sans
Source Sans Pro
Non-google fonts added to list
Arial regular
Helvetica
Times New Roman
And the admin cannot download the Css of the Default themes as they are already updated on themes to avoid duplication.
While uploading the fonts we cannot upload two fonts with the same name and if we try to upload two fonts with the same name we will get an error message as the Font name already exists.
Loree Admin can also remove any custom fonts from the list by clicking the delete option provided next to the font names on the extreme right side of the screen.
When the Loree admin is trying to delete a particular font then a popup modal will appear with the name of the font to double-check with the admin if they are deleting the correct font and if they click to cancel the modal will get cancelled and the font will not get deleted but if they click on Delete them the font will get deleted permanently.
Note:
When the admin user is uploading new custom font via Dashboard and the upload was successful, then it will display a toast message Custom font uploaded successfully
When the admin user is deleting an individual custom font from the existing list, then it will display toast message Custom font deleted successfully
Due to network failure or other reasons if any font is not uploaded then it will display a toast message Error on Font Upload. Please try again later.
When the admin user tries to upload a file and there is an upload error that the following message will pop up.
All the google fonts and custom fonts that are updated in the Admin dashboard will reflect in the dropdown in the text editor as shown in the screenshot below.
