How to update the JS file in themes

Updating an Existing JavaScript File in Themes

Follow the steps below to update a JavaScript (JS) file in your theme and ensure the changes are reflected across all courses.

Prerequisite

  • You must have access to the Admin (Root Account).

Steps

  1. Go to Admin Settings
    • Navigate to the Admin section.
    • Select the Root Account.
  2. Open Themes Page
    • From the root account menu, click on Themes.
  3. Select Active Theme
    • Identify and select the currently active theme.
  4. Access Upload Section
    • Once the theme is selected, go to the Upload tab on the left side.
  5. Locate Existing JavaScript File
    • In the upload section, find the existing JS file (if already uploaded).
  6. Take Backup (Important)
    • Click on View File to open the current JS file.
    • Copy or download the file.
    • Create two copies:
      • One for backup
      • One for making changes
  7. Update the JavaScript File
    • Use the updated JS file provided by the Loree team.
    •  Update the content in your working copy.
  8. Save the Updated File
    • Ensure the updated JS file is saved properly.
  9. Upload Updated File
    • Go back to the Themes page.
    • Click on Select.
    • Upload the newly updated JS file.
  10. Apply the Theme
    • Save the theme changes.
